Registered Angus and Ranch Beef

Located in Jackson, California, we breed Registered Angus seedstock in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Amador County. The goal of our program is to meet the needs of commercial cattlemen by producing high-quality, practical cattle that hold up in a range environment and produce calves that will excel on the range and in the feedyard. We got started raising Registered Angus in 1998 on a homestead that has been in the family since 1868. We now AI 100% of our cows, selecting for calving ease, performance, eye appeal, moderate frames and mature size, fleshing ability, longevity, soundness, and carcass traits. In our AI program, we use a combination of proven breed leaders and promising younger bulls. We also look for quality outcross cattle to help maintain genetic diversity and offer alternative bloodlines. All of our bulls are developed on forage at the ranch. Thus, they are accustomed to hill country.

We also sell grass fed beef, produced by commercial Angus cows as well as some Registered Angus cows. Since we spring calve, our grass fed beef is marketed in June when the animals are about 14-15 months old and 900 - 1200 lbs. The beef is sold by live weight and taken to a USDA certified harvesting facility. Customers can buy full interest, 1/2 interest, or 1/4 interest in a beef animal. The grass fed beef is distributed to our customers annually in July. Customers can pick up their beef in Jackson (about 50 miles southeast of Sacramento) or in Modesto.
